I'm not much for birth control these days.

I've tried a handful but now that I have all of the chemicals and hormones out of my body I'd rather not go back to that if possible. If I do go back I'll probably go back to the last pill I was on - yasmin. That was by far the best one I tried.

The one suggestion I have is don't try ortho evra (the patch) ugh what a horrible experience. I'm honestly not even sure if it's still on the market or not without going off to google it. I got horrible headaches each week when I'd change over to the next patch. Then to my surprise... months after stopping it I started seeing commercials about it. You know the ones where they say 'have you or a loved one experienced... (then they list things like death, heart attack etc) because of ortha evra. call us. I'm glad it never got that bad for me - bad enough but still!

I tried Ortho Evra for two months. The hormone surge was ridiculous. I wanted to murder DH. He couldn't do anything right, he'd just breathe and I'd start yelling. It was horrible. I dropped it immediately and we went straight back to using condoms.

I was on the pill (can't remember which one) for years and had no problems with it but now it makes me hormonal and half the time I can't even remember to take it.

I really want to try those lil sponge things that are sold over the counter. Can't remember the name. But obveeeeously, that is later when I can actually get pregnant.

I highly recommend a 1 year-old who never sleeps. Best protection in the world.

me neither. It sucks, but is effective.

Also - plain old condoms for us when the opportunity occasionally presents itself.

If there was a pill (or equivalent) for men, I'd do it in a second. If vasectomies were reversible I'd do that in a second.

Once Baby 3 is weaned I'll be looking into options, but I hate Micronor with a distinct and burning passion.

And Pete, sex is what got us to this place with all the stinky diapers.

Yeah you were a mess on the ortho! I'm undecided as to what's worse, abstinence or condoms.

Haha! Are condoms really that bad? I obviously don't know how bad they are from the other side.

I asked about the patch here and my doctor laughed saying they had so many 'Patch Babies' it was ridiculous. I guess it'll slip off and women won't notice it. The shot frightens me so good ole oral meds have always worked - tricylen or ortha novum have worked great for me.

Of course I haven't had sex in 2 months and my poor husband hasn't complained once. He said my tummy kind of freaks him out though. That part in 'Knocked Up' when they're trying to have sex and the guy gets all freaked out, Mike whipped his head in my direction and gave me a wide eyed look. I was rolling.

I'm learning it's apparently more common than not for a guy to be freaked out enough by a pregnant belly that moves and wiggles.... so much so that he would rather pass on sex

I did find with the patch that occasionally it would start to peel off and get stuck to my clothes. Not sure how I feel about the shots either. People tried convincing me to try nuva ring but I can't get over the thought that I might feel it moving around in there lol

haha! We just watched that last week. That part is great!

You reminded me of the name of the pill I had years ago, ortho tricyclen.

Oh yeah DH does not want to touch me now unless he can't see the belly. But it's okay cause I'm getting enough in my dreams that I'm not really missing it. It sounds pathetic when I say that out loud.

I hate them. I found a huge part of the problem was dryness. Add a few drops of lubricant to the inside and it helps immensely.

I never had that problem... Science has proven that there is nothing sexier than a woman in her 2nd trimester. Third trimester just makes it a more fun obstacle course
