Do we have any other moms or dads that wear their babies (or toddlers)? What carrier do you use? Are you interested in trying any other carriers?

I started out with a snugli carrier. This was before I knew much about baby wearing. I no longer use that and at some point will get around to potentially selling it on ebay to get it out of my hair.

I currently use a beco. I love it. It's super comfortable, very easy to adjust, has generous padding and easy clip/snap design for securing. Down the road maybe we'll get one for Josh to use haha. I guess another thing I love about the beco is that you can wear it in different ways (tummy to tummy, hip carry, cradle carry and back carry). Beco Baby Carrier

I'm considering trying a Mei Tai. They're similar to the beco but don't clip, you tie them to secure it. Maybe next baby I'll try a pouch.

I tried a ghetto cheap one that didn't work at all with Catherine, she had already gotten to big for it. What I did see, which I will now go and put on my amazon wishlist, is a HIP holster! How cool is that? I always thought the front carrier seemed awkward - I just got done carrying them for 9 months, screw being off center again! I don't really prefer the back one either, but a hipster? Very cool, I really want to try that one.

hip carry for older kids is great. If you get the right carrier you might not feel so awkward front carrying. It does take a little getting use to at first but beyond that as long as its the right tightness etc you should be good! Can't wait to hear how you like the hip holster if you end up getting it

I want a swaddle/wrap thing for early stages. Any experience there? I keep staring at the house and how messy it is thinking, "how in the world am I going to clean with an infant?"

I have no experience with a wrap. But I've found I can clean with girlie in the beco - so it can be done! I've even vacuumed while wearing her haha. Just be careful not to like clean using harsh chemicals while wearing baby I ended up buying a new cleaner that is not full of nasty chemicals - that way I can use it when I'm wearing girlie (when I'm not I try to use some of the other ones available to make sure the counters are cleaner).

So up to this point I've been wearing girlie in the beco tummy to tummy. Tonight I decided to try the back carry. It really wasn't that bad getting it to work. I just have to sit down on the couch to do it by myself. Girlie was super happy - she was all goofy. I took a picture. I'll have to check tomorrow to see if it came out okay. If it did I'll post it Oh and a big plus - I think this might help with my back aching after wearing/holding her for an extended time.

I love that girlie is so content being in the beco and falls asleep usually pretty soon after being in it. I wore her for most of the time we were at the car show last week (she got so much attention haha). and wore her again tonight because i needed to clean the kitchen and she was being needy.... turned on some christmas music and within a few minutes she was out cold haha.

I need to get me one of those. Seriously! Once this baby is out I'm going to boycott cleaning until I get one.

Currently doing research on Ergo baby carries. I think that might be a good option for Josh because they're basic colors but similarly designed to the beco.
-They require no tying (so theyre simple to learn how to use)
-have a thick waste for support
-padded straps
-hood for child
-can be worn numerous ways (tummy/tummy, cradle, back carry, etc)
-have a handful of neat and handy accessories (including the backpack attatchment)

here are a few pictures (choosing to pick pictures of a guy to show that guys can babywear too... and it doesn't look silly)

back carry

tummy/tummy carry

backpack accessory on left - hip carry on right

cradle carry with infant insert

this definitely has a good spot in the possibility list for trying out down the road

I'd love to find a carrier that is easy to breastfeed in while remaining as modest as possible. I'll have to do some research on that.

And how cute is that lil boy in the first pic? Awww.

I like this carrier. It looks comfy. I like the pea pod too but I think I'd only use it in the very beginning when baby is tiny. It's cool it has all the different positions and the one for the tiny infants makes me want it.

the ergo is very popular with those who have tried it (from what ive read). it's very similar to the beco in that you can use it in the same ways (tummy/tummy, cradle, back, hip and also secures with the snapping clips... not sure how else to describe them at the moment) but the ergo has accessories the beco doesnt. theyre also relatively around the same price range but adding on the accessories makes it more pricey but potentially well worth it.

yeah and its def. not a bjorn - i was really worried that id have the same problem w/the sling as i did with the bjorn (it hurting my back) but thankfully it didnt. plus Serenity hated the bjorn...so we gave up there.
