with less than a week to go to being 6 months old.... Last night Camryn was playing in the cosleeper while I was washing up for bed. Josh was in the other room and Sienna was who knows where. Well... I looked at Camryn and she had pulled herself to a kneeling position of sorts. I told Josh to come look at what she had done and as he came in the room she pulled herself to a standing position

It was cute and amazing and scary all at the same time. Scary because she could easily go right over the edge of the cosleeper doing that. Josh snatched her up pretty quick so there wouldn't be any issues. Now I gotta decide... attach the crib to the bed, lower the cosleeper, set up the crib as is even though I never got the 2nd fix it kit

Camden would have rolled to the other end of the bed

it's dropped down a bit from our bed height - easily several inches so she hasn't tried to get out of it yet and she's only been in it in the morning when i've gone to shower or when getting ready for bed. she has never slept in it overnight but she could if she wanted to.

id try the crib...i mean we used it forever without a repair kit, and the repair kit did come pretty quick when we ordered it.

I just ordered the kit AGAIN. I ordered it 3.5 months ago and only got one of the items I was suppose to since the crib had two recalls

I might have Josh hook up the crib to the bed. I've seen it done. it's worth a shot.

this was camden at a bit over 5 months, knew we had to lower the mattress from then...and then imagine, walking 3 months later @ 8 months

Sienna was walking before 9 months too so yeah kiddos are trouble makers. The crib is still upstairs in the attic in pieces so we'll see. Josh is gone all next week. Maybe in the next week or two we'll figure something out.

a day less than 6 months camryn sat up completely on her own... straight up, no hands, no support. Up till now she's leaned to the side or supported her self a bit with a hand or arm... still sitting to an extent but not completely upright. It was neat and out of the blue. I didn't get a pic though.

6 month appointment:

18lbs 28" tall

She got the usual shots. Was offered h1n1 and seasonal flu shot which I declined on both counts. She only cried for like 2 seconds and has been happy since.

Dr was impressed with her motor skills - practically crawling (just needs to get her belly off the ground more regularly

) sitting, pulling to a standing position etc. Apparently from what she is familiar with ... she said babies don't usually crawl till 9 months but that's not the timeline we're use to. Sienna was walking by 9 months.

Dr tried telling me she needs vitamins which I think is silly.... she said because we're breastfeeding and not supplementing with formula and because she's not eating cereal - we need to give her vitamins once a day. Same deal with Sienna... breastfed, no formula, no cereal and was never once in 2 yrs told she needed vitamins and they're growing pretty similarly. I could see suggesting it if she were lacking or I was having trouble breastfeeding or had to stop or even if she wasn't gaining proper weight or something you know? But there isn't anything wrong

If anything she's flourishing

Whatever I say...

Overall good appointment. We go back in June for 9 months.
