Default Sitting in a shopping cart - what age? - 03-09-10, 01:33 AM

I haven't tried it and sometimes lately I think it might be a better option with Camryn. When we were in Lowes she totally fought being in the beco because she was wide awake and wanting to look around. It's the first time she actually did that but I'm just wondering at what point .... Do they need to be able to sit up fully on their own or just with a bit of support? Has your older child ever sat in the basket and your younger in the actual seat? Not sure if Sienna would even go for that and for now I'm still going to use the beco but... just curious and thinking.

Serenity will ride in the big part whenever...We put Camden in the cart early, 3 months when he was sitting with support...he was sitting up alone @ 4 though. (Mostly got worn at this age though!) We have carts that have two seats (that are the same size as the regular ones) and ill opt for that one. Honestly though lil clingy just got to the point of riding in the cart the whole trip without wanting to be held. So yeah regular carts Serenity goes in the big part and Camden rides in the seat.

yep.

she never sits fully upright on her own on the floor but she'll sit at an angle on the floor herself - like proping herself up leaning on a hand or something you know? but yeah she sits up well on her own with support so I could always put a back next to her or something if need be if she liked it but needed help or something.

my mom made one for me back when Sienna was little.... it's either in the garage or the basement and should probably be washed before being used again. it's very basic... no pillow or padding.

nope - our trip into petsmart was quick and she was content in the beco in the other store. Plus I need to wash the cover.

she seriously loves riding in a shopping cart if I let her - it's so funny. She's even funnier in the maclaren stroller - legs kickin away

I've only been able to one day so far for one reason or another. Crappy cold weather lately in the 40s and rainy so I'm not about to go out for long walks in that.

I saw a Bob today...orange in fact and thought of you

As far as the shopping cart thing...old conversation...but yeah, I've been putting Austin in it some...we still do have the infant seats...and if he's asleep I just sling that in there, but if he's awake, I've been putting him in the front and Jackson in the back if there's only one seat...

please don't tell me you still lug him around in the infant seat?! Camryn hadn't outgrown it yet but I was sick of carrying her even from house to car so I switched seats I only carried her in it other than that a few times at most.
