Visitors will have to register to view anything on this site. Hopefully this cuts back on the number of people that are only registering to spam.

No. I'm going to see if there is a way that the front page can at least be viewed, but I'm not sure how that will work out. There will be some finageling and other plans for what new members can see before posting as well. We have had too many people register for the sole purpose of spamming, that's not okay. We're working on making this a more enjoyable - spam free zone.

The point of hiding it, is to prevent people from stumbling upon the site and THEN deciding to register and spam. If they can't even tell whether it's active or not, they probably won't bother. Also, I think the fact that it was open to the public is the #1 reason why most people didn't stick around.

Hmmm I never thought about that. I guess it makes sense cause people want privacy. Esp with their kids.
