originally it was going to be this morning but I'm not sold on that idea yet.

i always see all the mardi gras cakes/foods at the grocery store around my bday...my mom even got me a mardi gras decorated cake one year

SO glad I never got St Patty's gifts or cakes. But I still understand the whole holiday bit - just weird cuz I never really thought about it before.

yup then my oldest sisters birthday is monday, so we have bday's 5 days apart (but 10 years later ha)

northerners dont really celebrate mardi gras...it's not huge here either. but its probably compared to how the northerners celebrate st pattys day where here it's not as big.

Okay it depends on who you talk to. Cuz I was in NYC for St Patty's day once and it was crazy

so much fun though. But yeah you may be right in that it's similar... not as much talk about mardi gras up here.

the only thing people do here is occasionally wear green- ive never been big on it though. i know there's alot more celebrating up there for st patty's day. in Chicago they dye the river green or something like that

green beer, big big drinking night/week/weekend for many

Chicago turns the river green and if you recall (or not) they turned the White House fountain green last year because the first family is from Chicago
